Bay Area native James Quick emerged in 2015 with not much more than a handful of tracks recorded in his dorm room..

With a jazz upbringing and several years spent in New Orleans surrounded by similar creatives, he developed a songwriting style balancing effortless hooks and poignant storytelling about his relationships, fears and ambitions. A producer in his own right, he incorporates exploratory guitar work with electronic elements to bring a refreshing and young energy to his compositions.

The singalong video for his 2018 single, “Bored In College” features family and friends (including Bella Thorne and Tana Mongeau) singing along to the anthem of a forlorn college dropout. James has shared the stage with MØ, RAC, Aaron Carter, WESLEY, Atlas Genius, and Mat Kearney.
